At Borderlands Resource Initiative, we are committed to transforming the lives of asylum seekers and migrants by providing direct services and community support. We’re looking for a Case Work Manager to coordinate and deliver emergency case management to newly arrived asylum seekers across Arizona. In this role, you’ll be key in ensuring that those we serve receive the essential services they need during their most vulnerable moments.
This role will provide direct assistance to asylum seekers receiving services from community partners across Arizona. Your support will be crucial in ensuring that individuals have access to transportation, medical services, and case management, allowing them to transition more smoothly into their new environment. Without your guidance, many may face delays or challenges in receiving the services they desperately need.
You’ll be on the frontlines, delivering life-changing support to asylum seekers and migrants, while also creating sustainable systems that will allow future case workers to serve these populations with compassion and efficiency. Responsibilities include:
• Directly providing emergency case management for newly arrived asylum seekers and migrants.
• Assisting with coordination of transportation, case management, and medical needs, ensuring seamless service delivery.
• Developing protocols and trainings for case managers serving asylum seekers and migrants to improve their understanding of case work.
• You have experience in case management of vulnerable populations, with a focus on ensuring holistic and compassionate service delivery.
• You are knowledgeable in community resources and social services, helping asylum seekers navigate available support.
• You have demonstrated the ability to manage complex caseloads, prioritizing urgent needs while ensuring every client receives care.
• You are skilled at collaborating with external partners, including medical professionals, legal advocates, and transportation services.
• You have experience working in nonprofit organizations, understanding the unique needs and challenges of mission-driven work.
• You’ve worked in shelter environments and have a practical understanding of the services and supports they provide.
• You are bilingual in English and Spanish, which will allow you to communicate more effectively with asylum seekers and diverse stakeholders.
• You have experience with developing and delivering training programs to improve the skills and effectiveness of other case workers.
Please send us your resume, any relevant portfolio items, and – most importantly – a cover letter that tells us about your interest in this role. We’re excited to meet you!
